Where does my money go?
Financial donations to MMBA support one of two critical programs:
Charitable Care:
Life-saving donor human milk is provided by physician prescription to those infants with a medical need, regardless of the family’s ability to pay. No fragile baby will ever be denied donor milk due to a lack of insurance or financial resources.
Research:
Already recognized as a leader in milk bank research, MMBA is building on its knowledge of nutritional composition and its variation in donor human milk to develop ways in which the milk can better meet the needs of the very low birth weight infants. Critical research is only possible through donations for these studies and required equipment.
The bottom line:
100% of financial donations to the Mothers’ Milk Bank at Austin are used directly for the Charitable Care or Research Programs. All operational costs for the milk bank are supported through processing fees paid by hospitals using donor human milk for their infants.

FRIENDS OF THE MILK BANK
Friends of the Milk Bank was introduced in December 2010 to recognize those who support MMBA through higher level giving. Friends of the Milk Bank members play an important role in ensuring that MMBA can conduct crucial and groundbreaking research in the fields of milk banking and breast milk, and continue to supply safe and appropriate donor human milk through our Charitable Care Program to those in most critical need, regardless of the family’s ability to pay. Become a member of this exclusive giving program! Please contact Whitney Musitano with any questions at 512-494-0800 or whitney@milkbank.org.
